Beautiful Sunset by the lake

Camp Fires, Sunsets and S'mores; what a wonderful combination! Praise the Lord for a great evening. We had our traditional Red Carpet dinner where we decorated and dressed up to celebrate our week together. The sun was shinning bright today and we applied sunscreen as often as possible. Praise God for a wonderful day!

God is awesome!

Wednesday July 14th

Sorry I didn't log yesterday. There was no opportunity for internet. Things are going well this week. There are some tired campers and some tired staff, but we are enjoying lots of laughter, singing, dancing, praising and playing. We thought it was going to rain terribly all day today, but the sun came out and dried up all the rain. We give thanks for that, it turned out to be a great evening, and the sunset was spectacular. The moon was just a sliver and there were only faith sounds coming from the cabins the last time I was out. It seems that campers wake up when the head to the cabin for bed, I think I used to be just that way.

Continue to keep us in prayer and that God would be glorified in all that is done here. If anyone is interested in coming and helping clean on Friday afternoon for a while that would be a great help to our staff, just give me a call 460-1536. Have a great night!

BYC Junior Camp

I've taken a night time ride down the road for internet, camp is off to a great start. Those who are here are really enjoying themselves. The sun was nice today and many campers enjoyed time swimming and kayaking and playing games! We can't wait for tomorrow!

Junior High Adventure Day 4

Was a nice day today, not as hot, and very enjoyable. Campers were enjoying the pool and playing sponge tag in Kayak options. Today I was able to play some basketball and we had a blast (at least I did, and I hope they did too :)! Today we learned a song called How He Loves us. It tells us of the amazing love of Jesus for each of us! What a wonderful, wonderful thing!

Pray you have a great night!

Junior High Adventure Day 3

Sorry I didn't write last night, no internet. I pray that you are well. Things here are going great. "Drink water." Would have to be one of our favorite quotes as it is so warm here in Charlotte Maine. We are thankful for the beauty of the day. We have been singing, jumping, running, playing, painting up a storm. Last night each cabin took on a name of the Lord and did a painting, that will eventually be posted around camp. They are looking great!

Praise God we had a great donation to our camper scholarship program! We rejoice in the Lord!

Junior High Adventure Day 1

God is awesome! We have a great group of Junior highers here! There are a number of new faces and that is always exciting. We had a lot of fun with Super Cranium, and the Gaga pit tonight! The bugs are out in full force so I am praying that everyone gets a good night sleep without too many buzzing noises in the air. It was warm this afternoon, but the night air brings a welcome coolness!

Pastor Matt from Calais 2nd Baptist is our preacher this week. Pray that God's word is heard and that many respond to it!

Have a great night. Check out Matt 22: 37-40 it is our theme verse this summer!

Teen Camp Day 3

Praise the Lord for a wonderful day! We had a lot of fun at chapel tonight even though we had some technical difficulties. The worship band actually practiced the wrong set list (opps). Praise the Lord it came together tough!

We had a neat prayer testimony today. At lunch we prayed that Amanda would find the morning for the float that had broken free right away. There had been 3 previous attempts to find the mooring in the 9ft of water, but they had been unsuccessful. Amanda went out in the boat and on her way out she saw a buoy below the surface of the water, sure enough it was attached to the mooring, sadly the eyelet was broken, but she found it right away! Praise the Lord!!!

Have a great night. Time for me to get some rest. I need it!!!!

Teen Camp Day 2

Although day 2 is almost over it is wonderful to have a chance to share a bit about it. At chapel we learned a few new songs, which is always challenging, but delightful at the same time. We started to learn the quick method of remembering the 10 commandments and we will continue to work on them throughout the week.

It did rain quite a bit today, but the truth is we didn't let it spoil our fun. There were people swimming, playing basketball, and shouts of joy were coming from the new Gaga-Pit. Tonight we did some art work and the cabins did a wonderful job! I can't wait for their work to be displayed.

The night has come to an end, and I wonder it this note I will be able to send. Pray all is well!

Teen Camp Day 1

Praise the Lord for a wonderful start and a beautiful day. We enjoyed the staff made camp rules video, danced for the joy of the Lord and used our minds and talents in Super Cranium. There is a great group of campers present and both long time and new staff who are enjoying being together! Please pray for a great week where many come to know Christ, Grow and Christ with a passion to show Christ when they return home!

As a bit of a side note thank you to all those who were able to attend the Day of Joy yesterday. I appreciate the celebration of 10 years (this is my 11th camping season) as camp director. So many of you have made this journey a great one and I really appreciate all you have done!

God is awesome!!!

A new post for Daniel

I am pretty sure Daniel is the only person who looks at this blog, at least right now. I thought I would write a note to him thanking him for his continued support. Yes I am "Washed Up" but I'll just keep plugging away. Thanks for your prayers.

Snow

We live in Maine. Sometime it snows, sometimes it doesn't. Today is one of those days, scratch that, one of those weekends and it is SNOWING. We decided it was a good chance to test the wintering ability of our mini ... Van that is. By God's grace we made it home from owls head. If I were to descride it... Snowmobiling in a minivan. Now that is an dventure. Moral of the story... Wait it out.
